Recruitment agency in Cagayan de Oro looks for workers abroad

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—A recruitment agency is now looking for skilled and professional workers here in Cagayan de Oro City who are interested to work abroad, particularly in Saudi Arabia.

City Public Employment and Service Office (PESO) Manager Juvy Paza said representatives from Nawras Manpower Services Incorporated will conduct a two-day interview to all job applicants on August 6 to 7, 2009 (Thursday and Friday) at the PESO office in City Hall.

Positions available for job placement are: all types of engineers (civil, mechanical, electrical, planning, material, auto); architects/draftsman/Autocad operators/surveyors; electricians (building, industrial, heavy equipment, auto); painters (building, auto spray); technicians (instrument, electrical, elevator, Hvac, aircon, chiller); mechanics (diesel, heavy equipment, auto, hydraulic); welders (all kinds); carpenters (furniture, finishing); trailer drivers / dumptrucks and heavy equipment operators (bulldozer, backhoe, loader, grader, crane, asphalt, concrete batching plant). CHR-10 spearheads regional summit on int’l humanitarian law

August 12 of every year is declared as the International Humanitarian Law (HL) Day to commemorate the signing of the 1949 Geneva Conventions on the Law of War (LOW/Law of Armed Conflict (LAC) of which our country is a signatory pursuant to Executive ORDER No. 134.

To highlight the celebration, the Commission on Human Rights Regional Office No. 10 (CHR-10) will be spearheading a Regional Summit on IHL on August 7, 2009, Friday, at Deluxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Further, there will be a National Summit on IHL on August 12, 2009.

The activity will be attended by government employees, local officials, policemen and military men who are involved in IHL.

The International Humanitarian Law (IHL) also known as the “ the Law of Armed Conflicts (LAC) and the Law of War (LOW)” is the body of rules which in wartime, protect persons who are not or no longer participating in hostilities and limit the methods and means of warfare employed. It is composed of Four Conventions: (a) Convention on the Amelioration of the wounded and sick in armed forces in the field; (b) Convention on the Amelioration of the wounded, sick and shipwrecked among armed forces at sea; (c) Convention on the Amelioration of the Prisoners of War; and (d) Convention on the Amelioration of the Civilians.
