Finally the wait is over for the Philippines to grab the
most prestigious international beauty tilt “Miss World 2013" held in Nusa Dua
Resort southern Bali, Indonesia on September 29, 2013. It only took actress
and model Megan Young to take home the crown. Megan, 23, bested 126 other
candidates who represented their respective countries.
Since Miss World started 63 years ago, 62 candidates from the
Philippines vied for the elusive title and none of them grabbed the crown. Actress
Ruffa Guttierez, Gwendolyn Ruais, Evangeline Pascual only made it to the top
five. Young was the first Filipina who made history for the Philippines.
With Young on her throne were second place Ms Marine
Lorphelin, Miss France; Ms Ghana, Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter as third place. - Photo credit to AP
