Broadcasters of RMN-dxCC named at least five underworld suspected criminals linked to the illegal gambling machine operations in the city during its radio program over the weekend.
Over a local radio here, RMN-dxCC broadcasters Rey Maraunay and Emil Lledo identified the alleged illegal gambling machines operators as certain Chang, Lim, Tan, Po, Kay, a retired police colonel and former top-ranking official of the Cagayan de Oro City police Office (COCPO). This paper is withholding the real identities of said illegal gambling machine operators pending court investigation.
“Ang listahan aning mga gialegahan nga mga illegal video machine operators gipadala na sa Department of Justice apil na ang mga police officers nga gisuspetsahan nga protectors,” Lledo said during his radio program.
Lledo said the names of alleged illegal gambling machine operators and their protectors were called to them by phone callers in which they also confirmed in their own separate investigations.
The name of one of the alleged illegal gambling machine operators was already identified by the self-confessed “video karera” collector Felizer Caitor in his affidavit he executed before the National Bureau of Investigation in Northern Mindanao.
It was learned that said list of suspected illegal gambling machine operators in the city and some names of policemen allegedly protecting them has already reached Malacañang during the meeting of RMN and other network executives led by Butch Canoy met with President Gloria Arroyo last week and discussed media killings in the country. Canoy is the chairperson of the Kapisanan Ng Mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP).
Meanwhile, a second letter reportedly coming from the spokesperson of the National Democratic Front has denied involvement in the near fatal ambush of RMN-dxCC chief reporter Nilo Labares on March 5.
A certain Cesar Renerio, spokesperson of the National Democratic Front for North Central Mindanao said the gambling lords are behind the shooting of Labares and not New People’s Army hitmen, and it even warned punishment to whoever sent the first letter that revealed the revolutionary movement was behind the attempt to take Labare’s life.
“Whoever fabricated this story will be answerable to the revolutionary movement,” said Renerio in a press statement sent to a local daily paper here.
