Cagayan de Oro hires 20 hospital workers

CAGAYAN de Oro—In his efforts to improve the services of the J.R.. Borja Memorial City Hospital, City Mayor Constantino “Tinnex” Jaraula recently endorsed the request for additional 10 nurses and 10 nursing attendants, including the renovation of the hospital’s morgue.

Acting upon request of Cagayan de Oro City Hospital Assistant Chief of Hospital Dr. Philip N. Medalle, Mayor Jaraula transmitted the manpower augmentation request to the Local Finance Committee chaired by City Treasurer Lino D. Daral for his favorable action.

At the same time, the Mayor also approved the revised program of works for the repair of the hospital’s morgue amounting to P420,000 chargeable against the 20% Development Fund.

It can be recalled that Mayor Jaraula strongly pushed for the implementation of the P62 million subsidy from the Department of Health (DOH), P22 million of which will be used for the completion of the construction of the City Hospital Annex Building Project while the remaining P40 million is intended for the upgrading / expansion of 22 barangay health centers.

Aside from this, the city government also set aside an additional P5 million for the hospital’s emergency purchase of drugs and medicines in order to ensure efficient and effective delivery of basic health services to the public.
