Kumon Philippines to hold parenting discussion, seminar in Cagayan de Oro on Sept. 5

By Joel Escol

Kumon Philippines executives will be here in Cagayan de Oro as part of the company’s activities to promote its new concept in the development of young children, especially in math and reading.

Kumon Philippines continues to help children and their parents maximize their full potential. More than developing the child's skills in Math and Reading, Kumon aims to instill what it calls Life Skills -- which include time management and discipline -- while the child is still young. Kumon believes that by building on these Life Skills, children have the ability to grow and become productive members of their community.

In line with Kumon's goal of helping parents assist their children as they grow, it will be holding a discussion about parenting over lunch on September 5, Saturday, 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Roadhouse Cafe at SM City Cagayan de Oro to specially invited guests and participants.

Aside from Kumon Philippines' representatives, it will also be joined by DLSU Manila's Dr. Lilia Dino Bautista, Kumon Philippines' Yoyie Angeles and the Philippine Mental Health Association's national executive director Regina de Jesus to share their views on child development and parenting techniques.

In addition, Kumon will be hosting a free parenting and public education seminar at Cinema 4 of SM City Cagayan De Oro from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, also on the same date.
