PADAYON Pilipino leader and former Cagayan de Oro City mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Emano is now back to his daily routine, according to his son-in-law and City Councilor President Elipe.
Elipe said the former mayor is back to entertaining visitors at his home, attending activities and gatherings.
“Wala namay problema, gaatubang na sa mga bisita, gatambong sa mga appointments and dili mana siya kaayo gagawas sa balay”, he said.
Elipe said the head of the Papadyon Pilipino who has declared his intent to again run for city mayor next year is now up and about after his ‘general check up’ at the Capitol University Medical Center (CUMC) more than two weeks ago.
But while Emano may be back to his daily routine, the chain-smoking former city mayor may yet be far from his old self.
At the United Nationalist Alliance’s (UNA) Mindanao launch Saturday, Emano, who was supposed to give the welcome remarks to honor Vice President Jejomar Binay, stayed barely an hour.
Emano also did not mingle with supporters and only waved on his way out while inside his moving van.
Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano later explained why the former mayor had to leave early saying they did not want to the elder Emano’s health at risk because of the heat.
Emano had not been forthcoming about his true state of health despite admitting he had been admitted at the CUMC’s intensive care unit (ICU).
The closest to a health bulletin that Emano issued during his entire hospital confinement was to say that he was putin the ICU for hypoglycaemia, a condition linked to diabetes.
But Elipe reiterated that his father-in-law is still in the race for city mayor. - From sunstar.com.ph
