What is website RFP? RFP or better known as Request for Proposal is a bidding process which announces details of a certain project from contractors. Not all private firms or organizations prefer RFPs and it's the government that usually calls for a bidding. Website RFP is another bidding process which involves only website designers and developers to join the bidding. Below are set of criterias usally followed by contractors.
1. Licensed contractor - The contactors who may join the bidding process must be duly licensed by a local licensing division. Failure to comply with these requirement gives contractors no room to participate in the bidding process. The license will ensure the company who announce the bidding, as well as assure them that there are no bogus or pseudo contractors joining the bidding.
2. Expert in what they do - This is also one of the basic requirements. The contractor must have expertise in website design and web development and must be able to to meet the project's ultimate requirements, which may include app development, Website Design, Website Development, Ecommerce website development, theme development, Website Migration from Magento 1.9 to Magento 2.4, Website migration from Drupal 7 to 9, Migration Magento to Shopify, Migration Shopify to BigCommerce, Magento updates and extension development, Woocommerce Plugin Development, Bigcommerce, Shopify private and public apps.
3. Must show proof of expertise - Contractors are also sometimes required to show proof of expertise to the bidding committee. However, other companies do not require this. They just checked on the contractor's website portfolio.
Other requirements
There are other requirements imposed by the company that contractors must follow in order to join the bidding process. Sometimes the winning bidder is required to submit a surety bond in the form of cash or check.
