CVO earns P196T in slaughter fees
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—The City Veterinary Office (CVO) earned a total of P196,404.25 from post and ante mortem fees from animals slaughtered last month in the City Slaughterhouse.
City Veterinarian Dr. Perla Asis said that 1,120 cattles; 34 carabaos; 6,205 hogs; 198 goats; 60 horses and 28 ostriches or a total of 7,645 animals were slaughtered during the period.
Of the total income earned, the CVO collected P 25,122 from ante mortem fees and P 171,282.25 from post mortem fee.
The CVO also condemned two carcasses of hogs due to jaundice, eight due to dead on arrival and 2,316.45 kilograms of animal organs.
BAC assists 158 indigents
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—A total of 158 poor residents of the city availed last month of various services extended by the Barangay Assistance Center (BAC), according to BAC operations head Federico Gempesaw.
In his monthly accomplishment report to City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula, Gempesaw said his office has responded to 43 requests for coffin assistance; 43 requests on transportation assistance during burial and 45 requests on other vehicle assistance.
The BAC also acted 25 requests for sand and gravel deliveries to sitio Tibasak, Macasandig; Bayabas; Zone 2, Carmen; Kauswagan; Zone-10, Bulua; Brgy 26; Bonbon; Balulang; Canitoan and Camaman-an.
The Barangay Assistance Center is a round-the-clock action center of the city government tasked to respond to emergency needs of the public, especially those living in far-flung barangays.
COMCENTER responds 2,230 public calls
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—The Cagayan de Oro Emergency Assistance and Communication Center (COMCENTER) has responded a total of 2,230 public calls for the past six months.
COMCENTER manager Ric Pabayo reported to City Mayor Constantino G. Jaraula that his office acted on calls for assistance on 12 cases on murder/homicide/dead body; 3 on rape/attempted/molested; 9 on shooting incident; 550 on traffic accidents; 68 on robbery/theft/snatching/vices; 16 on stabbing/hacking; 8 on drugs; 41 on fire alarms; 13 on physical injury; 27 on rescue; 54 on carnapping; 5 on kidnapping/missing; 8 on domestic violence and 31 on public utility trouble.
It also responded 266 calls related to nuisance, public disturbance/intoxication; 442 on banks/pawnshop alarm and 677 other calls for assistance during the period (January-June).
COMCENTER is open 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week to accept calls from the public who need emergency assistance. It can be reached through landline number 166 and 14500 mhz for VHF radio.
