Benjamin Salusad and Rene Dal-anay (both holding sharp-edged bolos), killed a pig during the Tampuda (peace pact) ritual where they were able to let go of their hatred.
Two groups of conflicting rebel returnees led by Benjamin Salusad a.k.a “Kumander Nonong”(seated right) and Rene Dal-anay alias “Kumander Taruc” (seated extreme left), attended the ‘Tampuda’ solemnized by ‘Datu’ (tribal chieftains) held last April 10, 2012 at Sawaga River, Malaybalay City. Tampuda is a sacred ritual of the “Lumads” (Indigenous People) as a way to settle disputes and mend gaps between clans having disagreements through unwritten treaties.
