acne scar removal

Almost all people experience having acne at some point in their lives. Some can appear mild, while others are so severe that these would require intensive treatment by a dermatologist.

Teenagers are more prone to getting acne due to hormonal changes. And so are pregnant women.
Stress, pollution and dirt are also the common causes for acne.
Severe forms of acne may leave scars in the skin, especially those that have become infected or inflamed due to frequent pricking. Some people would tend to panic when they see signs of acne scars on their face. But acne scars are not a big deal, really, because there are skin care products that can help heal the skin and completely erase the scars.
There are also some common household materials that can be used to help lighten the
scars. For acne scars that are swollen or have become reddish, dermatologists often recommend cortisone creams to calm the skin.

Dr. Tina Alster, a professor at Georgetown University, says skin cells absorbed the cortisone and works to reduce the inflammation.Aside from cortisone creams, products that contain Kojic acid, arbutin and vitamin C can also be used to help lighten any dark areas left from an acne scar

Kojic acid is known as a natural skin lightener that is derived from mushroom extract while arbutin is a bearberry extract. Vitamin C, on the other hand, is an effective anti-oxidant that promotes the synthesis and production of collagen, a protein that maintains the elasticity, firmness and suppleness of skin. The formation of new collagen helps fill in acne scars.

Laser skin resurfacing, ablative lasers and filler treatments are also available to erase acne scars.
Ablative lasers vaporize the scar and allow the growth of smoother skin while filler injections are done to literally fill in the indentations left behind by deep acne scars. If you don’t want to use acne-removing products or don’t want to undergo laser treatments, you can try some home remedies that are equally effective in removing acne scars, in a natural way.
Among the natural ingredients that can remove acne include lemon juice, honey, aloe
vera, olive oil, baking soda, raw potatoes and tomatoes, tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar, vitamin E and cocoa butter.

Lemon is a natural bleaching agent and is rich in vitamin C, which helps rebuild collagen. The acid in lemon juice helps brighten the skin, making the scars less visible.
Apply the juice directly on the scars, leave for 10 minutes and rinse off. Apply the juice everyday for two to three weeks. In no time, your acne scars will surely lighten.

Honey is also a good lightening agent. You can mix honey with lemon juice or use it alone. Just apply the honey on the scars, leave overnight and rinse off in the morning. All these natural ingredients are effective in removing acne scars but it’s up to you to choose which suits you best.
There is just one important thing that you need to remember when you have acne –
never play with it or never prick it. If you do, it will surely inflame, become infected and will leave bigger and deeper scars.
