Protests in Cagayan de Oro to welcome Arroyo’s SONA 2009

President Gloria Arroyo’s state of the nation address (SONA) will be met with different protests in Cagayan de Oro and elsewhere in the countryside.

Arroyo is expected to include in her SONA 2009 nine major accomplishments in infrastructure in Visayas and Mindanao regions

Kristine Lim, spokesperson of Bayan Muna in Northern Mindanao said various militant groups will march in the main streets of Cagayan de Oro to protest the SONA 2009 of President Arroyo.

Lim said the militant groups will march this afternoon starting from the provincial capitol grounds to the city’s amphitheater.

Church leaders in Cagayan de Oro will also do their own version of protest during the president’s SONA 2009.
