This October, Nescafe 3in1 campus band competition dubbed as “Soundskool” takes its search for the next young Pinoy music stars on the road by kicking off the competition’s regional elimination leg. This particular stage of the competition will see college bands that have passed initial screening phase battle each other out for limited slots for a shot at the Grand Prize, as well as gain the rare opportunity to undergo intensive music workshops with some of the country’s best known bands and industry executives.

On October 3, 2009, the qualified bands based in Mindanao battled it out against each other at the Limketkai Mall in Cagayan de Oro City. The top three bands received P25,000 each.

Mark King of Xavier University's Little School House Band said in an interview that his group did not expect to win since there are top bands all over Mindanao that joined the competition.

"We are only a three year old band and this is our first time to join a bigger contest. Thanks God we came out victorious in the end," he said.

The three top finalists for the Grand Finals in Metro Manila on November 14, 2009 include:

Disco Disco Band of St. Michael’s College in Iligan City;

Eevee Band from Philippine Women’s University in Davao City;

and Little School House of Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City.
